The Ultimate Fighter 7: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest. Ultimate fighter season 7 sported only Middleweight fighters.

UFC Light Heavyweight Title-holder Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and light heavyweight #1 contender Forrest Griffin, were coaches of both teams.

The two champions opposed each other for the UFC light heavyweight championship after the closing of the series, at UFC 86 where Griffin won the Light Heavyweight Championship.

Ultimate Fighter 7 Started with 32 fighters instead of the habitual 16. UFC chairman Dana White was pissed at the earlier fighters over the previous six seasons for not training and competing enough. He decided that fighters need to earn their place into the mansion by winning a combat ahead the beginning of the show. The first two installments were a digest of the introduction fights.
