UFC gloves are not protecting much when striking. They are an alternative made for striking and grappling, but they are far from good in terms of hand protection concerning striking.

It’s a tough challenge to make a glove for every aspect of multi-dimensional fighting, it is almost impossible. That’s why all the MMA fighters use boxing gloves when training.

The UFC produced a heavy bag glove that you can use for workouts. You can hit the heavy bag or your training partner as hard, and as long as you want without breaking your wrist or killing your knuckles. They feature also a velcro closing that supports the wrist well.

You can wear Gel Wrap Glove underneath as a hand wrap for extra protection, and you’re all set. This is exactly what I’m doing, the middle knuckle in my right hand started to be twice bigger than it was, and quite painful as well. Enough to feel the pain at every blow. I bought a pair of gel wrap gloves, and I wear them under my boxing gloves. I feel almost no pain and I hit twice harder…
