UFC 111 is going to be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on March 27, 2010. The main event will feature Georges St. Pierre vs. Dan Hardy for the UFC Welterweight Championship and Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir for UFC Interim Heavyweight Championship.

It’s going to be the first fight in the octagon for Georges St. Pierre since UFC 100 – Lesnar vs. Mir 2 and his victory over Thiago Alves.

He won his last six fight and completely changed his ethic of training and mental approach since his loss to Mat Sera at UFC 69 – Shootout on 4/7/2007.

His MMA record shows only two losses, the first one against Matt Hughes at UFC 50 – The War of ’04 that he avenged by armbar at UFC 79 – Nemesis and the second one at two Mat Sera as already mentioned above.

Dan Hardy is going to be a serious thread to GSP. Hardy is coming out of 7 streak wins, the last one against Mike Swick at UFC 105 – Couture vs. Vera and owns a 23 – 6 MMA record.

Frank Mir is going to face the dangerous Shane Carwin after his demolition of Cheik Congo at UFC 107 – Penn vs. Sanchez. Carwin is coming out of a victory against Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC 96 – Jackson vs. Jardine. He was supposed to face Lesnar at UFC 106. The fight was postponed due to Lesnar illness.
