Kimbo Slice vs. James “Colossus” Thompson & Gina “Conviction” Carano vs. Kaitlin Young at EliteXC: Primetime Historical Event

51I1ARHGFtL._SS500_This is, up to now, the biggest MMA event in history in terms of viewers. Over seven million people watched the event on network television. The show was aired for free on CBS for the first time ever!

EliteXc could sign the big contract the UFC couldn’t get. Thus the Dana White hanger and historical reaction to anything named EliteXc or, at the time, Kimbo Slice.

EliteXC: Primetime holds a superstar lineup featuring a main event fight showcasing the most popular streetbrawler ever and Youtube superstar Kimbo Slice as he settles versus James “The Colossus” Thompson.

Also on the event, EliteXC’s middleweight title-holder Robbie Lawler defends his championship for the first time undertaking Sacramento hitter, Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith.

Gina “Conviction” Carano goes one-on-one with Kaitlin Young in a hard battle that led to the Cyborg fight much later in the Strikeforce cage, due to EliteXc failure.

Another good fight features Joe Villasenor against the nosy and arguable fighter “New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni.

EliteXC: Primetime is a major event in MMA history, almost as important as UFC1. Not in terms of bouts or fighting styles, but it is up to now the most viewed MMA show ever. Most of the mainstream people watched only this event in their lifetime and only know Kimbo Slice as MMA fighter.
