This is the first major MMA event featuring a female fight as a main event! The beautiful Gina Carano will square off against the utmost intimidating Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, the female version of Wanderlei Silva.
This fight promises to be electrifying. It can’t go the distance, both fighters being powerful strikers and extremely generous in their offenses. Don’t expect a conservative fight! They’ll both go flat out and may the best woman win!
Let’s see if Gina confirms her number 1 status as a MMAer. Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos being the most serious test in her career, maybe not the most skilled but definitely the most brutal fighter she ever met. They’ll be fighting for the Strikeforce Female 145-Pound Championship belt.
The only other announced fight of the night is the Strikeforce Lightweight Championship between Josh Thomson vs. Gilbert Melendez, while Alistair Overeem is still waiting for an opponent to be named.
