There are tons of rashguard on the sport’s market. Most of them are made for surfers and are not resistant enough for MMA training. The rash guards were first made for surfers to protect them from the chill of water and moisture from over exposure to water. Resistance isn’t a necessity in that beautiful sport.

Heavy bag is nice to practice extremely hard shots but the bag’s motion is really limited. You can only circle around the bag, that’s about it. It’s really good to isolate punches or strikes and practice them over and over, but it has nothing to do with a real fight.

Every type of punching bags have different use. The punching mitts are use to reproduce a real fight. You usually set a timer to 3 minutes and above, and your trainer or workout partner makes you work out different combos during the full length of a round. The padding on the mitts allows your trainer to use them like real gloves, to imitate counters without risking strong injuries. It’s like punching with open palms.

Workout is made to learn and prepare yourself for the real thing. It’s totally stupid to get injured at the gym. Unless a mistake, someone who hurts training partner should be kicked out of the gym.

The only and recommended gear you need to get for that is a head gear. It will protect you from big punches and cut, especially if you’re fighting with MMA Gloves on.

Some of those nasty skin infections last forever and are extremely annoying to live with. The solution is to wear a rash guard that you clean after EVERY workout, especially when rolling out, and to take a hot shower as soon as you finish your training session.
