The main event fight between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger was supposed to be the first non-title 5 round fight in UFC history, but the battle will instead be contested at three rounds.

UFC 133 event is cursed!
Fist, it was supposed to feature Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones against Rashad Evans for his first title defense.http://www.mmabrawl.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=20185&action=edit#visibility
Then Jones was forced to postpone the fight due to injuries following the Rua fight. Subsequently, Jones was replaced by Phil Davis for the main event fight….
Until he was obliged to pull out of the event due to a knee injury sustained at the training camp!…
Machida was approached to take the vacant place to face Evans, but after having accepted the fight in the first place, he decided to ask for a major salary raise that Dana White refused to pay….
Finally Tito Ortiz is now set to face Rashad Evans in the main event fight!

This fight was supposed to take place a long time ago as Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones was going to defend his title against former champion Rashad Evans. However, when Evans won against Mauricio Rua he ended up tearing a ligament in his right hand. The torn ligament took Evans out for quite awhile and delayed the fight between Evans and Davis. However, Evans is completely healed and the UFC 133 Evans vs Davis battle is very close to getting under way as it takes place on August 6th, 2011!
First off, the UFC 133 Evans vs Davis fight is sure to be intriguing just because of how exciting it is to watch Rashad Evans. Evans is a very powerful puncher and is more of a boxer. As a matter of fact, he’s considered to be one of the most dangerous punchers in UFC and he backs that up with his fights. He has earned a reputation as a great fighter because of the fact that he has beaten many great fighters and now has earned himself a chance to become Light Heavyweight Champion if he beats Phil Davis.
Rashad Evans is a tough fighter, however, so is Phil Davis. Davis is the Light Heavyweight Champion and deservedly so. Davis is on a big winning streak and has beaten many excellent fighters during his career. Davis is also a very powerful puncher but tends to be a little more versatile than Evans. However, can his versatility overcome the power that Evans has over him when the UFC 133 Evans vs Davis fight begins?
Many people are taking sides as some believe Davis will win whereas others feel as if Evans has what it takes to become Light Heavyweight Champion. However, it seems as if the odds are currently facing Davis as his record and recent winning streak has people believing that Evans cannot beat him after having dealt with an injury whirl Davis continued to fight and win. That being said, the fight still hasn’t been fought and anything can happen. So, mark it on the calendar and get ready for one of the best UFC fights of the year on August 6th, 2011 when the UFC 133 Evans vs Davis fight takes place!
