At age 34, Penn is past his prime. He’s 7-7-1 since 2005, and his string of wins before that were mostly against that of tomato cans. He wasted his prime years (late 20′s) by not being consistent with his training, which is imperative for aging athletes. Experience and savvy will only carry you so far. Considering the above stated record, I’m not sure how he can be upset for not being mentioned as one of the greatest. IMO I don’t think he ever was, and I think MacDonald is going to embarrass him

Rory may have a slight edge on power, but not speed. and with his level of technique, that will negate the power. BJ is very fast and his reflexes are second to none. It looks like BJ is carrying less fat than he has for a long while also. Condit had no problem sweeping Rory from the bottom though out their fight. The key for BJ will be mobility, and the key for Rory will be landing kicks, clinching, and trying to secure a takedown to ground and pound. Fitch is a better wrestler than Rory.

Rory doesn’t have the same athleticism of GSP. He’s nowhere near the same calibur of wrestler either, and I don’t see him taking BJ down. He’s not going to outbox BJ. He’s talented, young, and hungry. But he’s not ready for a motivated, in shape Penn. I know it will be a hell of a fight though.
This fight is a toss up! BJ looks motivated, determined and ready to take on the youngster Rory. We’ll see what happens on fight night.
