MMA Brawl

The Kimura is one of the basic moves from BJJ that is applied regularly in MMA, thanks to Royce Gracie.

It can be performed from the top, from the bottom and from the side guard. It is easier to apply it from the bottom, and it is one of the really good moves you can do to win a fight from under.

There are two different Kimura: the regular and the inverted. It depends on the arm position of your opponent.

In this free video, they perform it only from the bottom and are wearing traditional BJJ Gi, but it works really well in Mixed Martial Arts.

Fedor Emelianenko, Minautoro Nogeira and of course Royce Gracie master this BJJ move really well to name a few MMA superstars. They won lots of fights using the Kimura, like Fedor VS. Randleman or Nogeira vs. Silvia.
