Anderson Silva is the current UFC Middleweight Champion. The Spider defended successfully his title against Thales Leites in a snoozefest main event fight that was booded by the Montreal crowd at UFC 97 a few days ago.

Silva is currently ranked as the number one middleweight in the world. His main style of fighting is the Muay Thai, but he is also a BJJ black belt that he got from Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira in 2006.

He presently owns the record for most uninterrupted victories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship after obtaining his 9th win overcoming Thales Leites in a 5 round unanimous decision. He also competed at Cage Rage and other MMA events including the Pride Fighting Championships, Shooto and Rumble on the Rock.
