No, it’s not the UFC for dummies, it’s the first UFC show after their historical event. And the lineup is as good as UFC 100.

The cage fighting event will take place at the  Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania On August 8, 2009.

BJ Penn will defend his UFC Lightweight Championship belt against Kenny Florian in the main event’s fight. I can’t wait to watch his trash talk promo! Let’s see if he talks about the greasegate drama again! I hope not! He bored to death everyone listening except his mum! It should be a hell of a fight.

Anderson Silva will face Forrest Griffin in the co-main event fight. This one should be a brawl! Both fighters being aggressive and big hearted, it won’t go the distance for sure. It’s going to be a war!

Wanderlei Silva was born on the 3rd of July, 1976 in Curitiba, Brazil. He started his career in Brazilian Vale Tudo on the 11/1/1996 in Vale Tudo 6 with a knockout victory against Dilson Filho.

He also fought in IVC vale tudo Brazilian championship that was a bare knuckle fighting competition. The fights were raw and extremely brutal.This is where he got the nickmane “The Axe Murderer” for his gruesome style of fighting.

His first UFC effort was not really successful, the octagon wasn’t really Taylor made for his stand up oriented style. He lost twice, to Victor Belfort in 44 seconds and to Tito Ortiz via decision for the UFC light heavyweight championship.

Silva commenced in Pride at the Pride 7 event on September 12, 1999, getting the win against Carl Malenko by decision. From 1999 to 2004, Silva won eighteen-straight fights in Pride, omitting a draw against Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.

On August 17, 2007, the UFC alleged that they had contracted Wanderlei Silva to fight in the octagon, and that he would make a comeback to the cage on December 29, 2007 at UFC 79: Nemesis. After months of conjecture about Silva’s adversary, Dana White declared Chuck Liddell would be Silva’s adversary for his return match.

He didn’t do to well in the UFC since his comeback. Getting the win only against Keith Jardine, a B level fighter and losing to Liddell and Quinton Jackson.

Despite his losing UFC record, his aggressive style made him a crowd favourite.

This is supposed to be the best UFC event of all time!
Brock Lesnar will face the only guy he lost to for the Unified Heavy Weight title! The fight was scheduled at UFC 98 but was postponed and moved to UFC 100 because of a Mir injury!

GSP will defend his title against Thiago Alves. It will be the first GSP fight since the greasegate drama! Let’s see if he forgot that episode and if Alves uses it in his trash talk promo!…

Too bad there’s no Wanderlei Silva or Nogeira fights… Lots of big dogs missing but nevertheless, UFC 100 is a hell of a promising event!

Royce Gracie is, without a doubt, the first legend in MMA. He’s the one who sold MMA to the fans. He has amazed fight lovers for his ability to win, and dominate, huge brawler with speed and skills without using massive punches or strikes.

Before Royce Gracie, nobody knew about BJJ. The crowd of the first UFC was booing Gracie while he was actually winning the fight!

Everyone was like: WTF?… What is he trying to do?… Even TV hosts didn’t know what to say. If you watch UFC 1 it’s quite hilarious to see that no one knew what was going on, except Gracie and the poor fighters on the other side…

The rest is history! Despite a serious and skilled opposition, BJJ was considered the reigning fighting style and was adopted as the most important martial art to be use in MMA.

Royce Gracie only appeared in UFC 1, UFC 2, UFC 3, and in the UFC 4 superfight. (a draw against Ken Shamrock)

He made few appearances in Pride Fighting Championship’s ring and was defeated by Sakuraba in one of the longest fight in MMA history. The fight lasted six rounds of 15 minutes and total 90 minutes of fighting. He also competed in K1 against Chad Rowan and avenged his loss against Sakuraba in K-1 HERO’s – Dynamite!! USA. That was his last fight.

SHO MMA: Strikeforce Challengers series, a new MMA event organized by Strikeforce, will take place in Fresno California. The show will be aired on premium television network Showtime on Friday, May 15.

Billy Evangelista (9-0) will fight “Iron” Mike Aina (11-6-1) in the main event of the opening.

Kim “Sugar Free” Couture (1-1) will fight as well on the show against Miesha Tate (5-1).

Quinton Rampage Jackson is the most colorful MMA fighter in the UFC. Every time the brawler is on camera he tries to be funny…. Sometime he goes too far and can be unrespectable but that’s the way he is.

He uses massively his crazy antics to make it to the top of the news and gossips, but he’s a hell of a dangerous fighter.

He’s a MMA fighter since 1999 when he started fighting in obscure promotions and in KOTC’s yellow cage. He then pursued his career in Pride Championship, starting at Pride 15 with a Submission loss (Rear Naked Choke) against Kazushi Sakuraba in 2001.

He competed in many Pride events, sporting a winning record in this fight promotion. His most famous fights are his impressive power slam win against Ricardo Arona at Pride Critical Countdown 2004 and his two losses to wanderlei Silva at pride final conflict 2003 and Pride 28: High Octane.

He then left Pride after his unanimous victory against Dong Sik Yoon at Pride 31 : Dreamer in 2006 and entered the UFC at UFC 67: All or Nothing. He won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Chuck Liddell at UFC 71: Liddell vs. Jackson.

He defended his title victoriously only once against Dan Henderson to finally lose it to Forrest Griffin in a really questionable decision. Since he avenged his loss to the Axe Muderer at UFC 92 in 2008.

The UFC produced a Quinton Jackson signature shirt that honored his crowd favorite status and his fighter accomplishment.
