The Ultimate Fighter – Season 1 is the first UFC reality TV show of all time. The season initiated on January 18th, 2005. Sixteen MMA fighters were taken in to participate in the show where they would reside together and train in two separate teams coached by legendary UFC title-holders, Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell.

The finale was diffused live on April 9th, 2005, where the two finalists in each weight class faced off for a contract with the UFC. It was the 1st live Ultimate Fighting Championship diffused on a non-pay-per-view TV broadcast, and it broughts lots of new fans as expected by the UFC.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Forrest Griffin Light heavyweight finale was considered as one of the best UFC fight in MMA history. Dana White awarded Bonnar a UFC contract as well after his performance, despite loosing.
